Choosing Cat6 — What Actually Differs Between Boxes
Cat6 boxes that look identical are not. The differences do not show up in a speed test on day one; they show up as failed certification, PoE voltage drop, and heat in bundled trays.
Conductor is the first thing to check. Full-size solid copper is what the standard assumes. Copper-clad aluminium is cheaper, lighter and legal to sell, but it carries less power and breaks more easily at the punch-down — and on a PoE run it is the difference between a camera that holds and one that drops at night.
